Abby's Smartwater Challenge email...

Smartwater tips have been helping me make it through. They remind me to drink and drink often. They explain the perks of drinking Smartwater: like re-hydrating my skin, keeping my energy levels up, and providing me with a safer more effective workout! The folks over at Smartwater seem to be realistic in what they ask people to do in this challenge, allowing me to be successful and make a life changing choice to drink more Smartwater!

Abby's Smartwater Challenge email...

After a week and a half of drinking Smartwater I feel so refreshed. No matter if I’m working out, at work, or just going about my every day routine, I feel rejuvenated! My body is feeling good and I think I have a new glow about me! Smartwater’s daily tips have been helping keep me aware of the challenge and stay on track with drinking!

It’s been great and only been a week and a half!

Christina's Smartwater Challenge email...

Yesterday was pretty busy day for me. Lots of running around for work and after work.
The impulse to stop and just pick up fast food was strong, but instead I stopped at
Kroger and picked up some baked chicken, which was really very good. I also think
I converted two of my friends into Smartwater drinkers after telling them about it
and the Smartwater Challenge. J

By JENNA and BARBARA BUSH

Sasha and Malia, we were seven when our beloved grandfather was sworn in as the 41st President of the United States. We stood proudly on the platform, our tiny hands icicles, as we lived history. We listened intently to the words spoken on Inauguration Day service, duty, honor. But being seven, we didn't quite understand the gravity of the position our Grandfather was committing to. We watched as the bands marched by -- the red, white, and blue streamers welcoming us to a new role: the family members of a President.

We also first saw the White House through the innocent, optimistic eyes of children. We stood on the North Lawn gazing with wonder at her grand portico. The White House was alive with devoted and loving people, many of whom had worked in her halls for decades. Three of the White House ushers, Buddy, Ramsey, and "Smiley", greeted us when we stepped into her intimidating hallway. Their laughter and embraces made us feel welcome right away. Sasha and Malia, here is some advice to you from two sisters who have stood where you will stand and who have lived where you will live:

-- Surround yourself with loyal friends. They'll protect and calm you and join in on some of the fun, and appreciate the history.
-- If you're traveling with your parents over Halloween, don't let it stop you from doing what you would normally do. Dress up in some imaginative, elaborate costume (if you are like us a pack of Juicy Fruit and a Vampiress) and trick-or-treat down the plane aisle.
-- If you ever need a hug, go find Ramsey. If you want to talk football, look for Buddy. And, if you just need a smile, look for "Smiley."
-- And, a note on White House puppies--our sweet puppy Spot was nursed on the lawn of the White House. And then of course, there's Barney, who most recently bit a reporter. Cherish your animals because sometimes you'll need the quiet comfort that only animals can provide.
-- Slide down the banister of the solarium, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and play Sardines on the White House lawn. Have fun and enjoy your childhood in such a magical place to live and play.
-- When your dad throws out the first pitch for the Yankees, go to the game.
-- In fact, go to anything and everything you possibly can: the Kennedy Center for theater, State Dinners, Christmas parties (the White House staff party is our favorite!), museum openings, arrival ceremonies, and walks around the monuments. Just go. Four years goes by so fast, so absorb it all, enjoy it all!

For four years, we spent our childhood holidays and vacations in the historic house. We could almost feel the presence of all the great men and women who had lived here before us. When we played house, we sat behind the East sitting room's massive curtains as the light poured in illuminating her yellow walls. Our seven-year-old imaginations soared as we played in the enormous, beautiful rooms; our dreams, our games, as romantic as her surroundings. At night, the house sang us quiet songs through the chimneys as we fell asleep.

In late December, when snow blanketed the front lawn, all of our cousins overtook the White House. Thirteen children between the ages of two and 12 ran throughout her halls, energized by the crispness in the air and the spirit of the season. Every room smelled of pine; the entire house was adorned with thistle; garlands wound around every banister. We sat on her grand staircase and spied on the holiday dancing below. Hours were spent playing hide-and-go-seek. We used a stage in the grand ballroom to produce a play about Santa and his reindeer. We watched as the National Christmas Tree was lit and admired the chef as he put the final icing on the gingerbread house.

When it was time, we left the White House. We said our goodbyes to her and to Washington. We weren't sure if we would spend time among her historical walls again, or ever walk the National Mall, admiring the cherry blossoms that resembled puffs of cotton candy. But we did return. This time we were 18. The White House welcomed us back and there is no doubt that it is a magical place at any age.

As older girls, we were constantly inspired by the amazing people we met, politicians and great philosophers like Vaclav Havel. We dined with royalty, heads of states, authors, and activists. We even met the Queen of England and managed to see the Texas Longhorns after they won the National Championship. We traveled with our parents to foreign lands and were deeply moved by what we saw. Trips to Africa inspired and motivated us to begin working with HIV/AIDS and the rights of women and children all over the world.

Now, the White House ballrooms were filled with energy and music as we danced. The East sitting room became a peaceful place to read and study. We ran on the track in the front lawn, and squared off in sisterly bowling duels down in the basement alley.
This Christmas, with the enchanting smell of the holidays encompassing her halls, we will again be saying our good-byes to the White House. Sasha and Malia, it is your turn now to fill the White House with laughter.

And finally, although it's an honor and full of so many extraordinary opportunities, it isn't always easy being a member of the club you are about to join. Our dad, like yours, is a man of great integrity and love; a man who always put us first. We still see him now as we did when we were seven: as our loving daddy. Our Dad, who read to us nightly, taught us how to score tedious baseball games. He is our father, not the sketch in a paper or part of a skit on TV. Many people will think they know him, but they have no idea how he felt the day you were born, the pride he felt on your first day of school, or how much you both love being his daughters. So here is our most important piece of advice: remember who your dad really is.

Christina's Smartwater Challenge email...

My weekend went well. Usually the weekend is the time of the week that
is really a struggle for me to eat and drink anything that might be good for me..
but drinking the Smartwater and eating on a regular schedule really gave me
lots of energy and kept me hydrated. I got so much more done this weekend
then I have in a long time with all my new energy.

Fritsch's Smartwater Challenge...

So over the weekend. I did cheat while I was on the Smartwater Challenge. I can't lie. I was at a restaurant and could taste the difference in my water. I forgot my bottle of Smartwater at home. I won't let that happen again.

Rachel Smartwater Challenge email...

The long weekend gave me some time to step up the workout. It was good though and I kept refreshed and hydrated with my Smartwater. Even with all the temptations of cake, ice cream and candy in my house from my daughter’s birthday it was still easy to curb all that with keeping myself hydrated with Smartwater and choosing a healthy snack…carrots or celery. Sometimes success is in just being able to resist the temptations and make the right choices.

Abby's Smartwater Challenge email...

This weekend was great! I went on a road trip and having Smartwater with me made things so easy! My drive went smoother, I was more awake and didn’t suffer my usual feeling of drowsiness when driving for a long period of time. Smartwater bottles are such a great size! They fit perfectly in my cup holders and are larger than most bottles of water, making it more convenient to drink throughout the day! It was a good weekend!

Fritsch's Smartwater Challenge Day ...

Today this challenge should be called Fritsch's challenge. I am struggling today with some sinus issues. I can tell you though that the Smartwater is helping me to feel better. When you have sinus problems it seems like you're thiristy all day. I for one don't feel that thirsty and I think its the Smartwater. Stay tuned...

Abby's Smartwater Challenge email day 5...

I did some shopping at Kroger last night! I noticed that my cart was filled with so many healthy fresh items that I don’t typically pickup. Of course Smartwater was also one of my purchases! I think drinking Smartwater is encouraging me to be healthy in all aspects of my life! Feeling good and being hydrated is a key component to getting healthy!

Rachel Smartwater Challenge email day 4...

The last few days have been good. As I gear up for my daughter’s 7th birthday party this weekend, I was thinking how I could incorporate healthy choices. So minus the cake and ice cream we will be having healthy snacks such as carrots, celery and fruit for the kids instead of chips and soda. Working out has been great because I have learned that as long as I drink my Smartwater throughout my workout, I never feel dehydrated. And when I think about eating that unhealthy snack…well I just drink my water and fill up on that.

Christina's Smartwater Challenge email day 4...

This week has been tough. Work has been busy and a have a cold that just won’t go away. Ick.
But I’m a little proud of myself. I’ve been drinking the Smartwater AND haven’t been eating fast food…though I’ve been temped.
I’m not someone who eats salad or anything, really, that could be considered good for you. So my way is to put myself on a schedule
and control portions….I’m even getting up earlier then usual so that I have time for breakfast. So far, so good.

Abby's Smartwater Challenge email day 4...

Boy oh boy can you see a change when drinking Smartwater. The difference in my regular workouts has been evident! I sweat more and feel better. Keeping my body hydrated with Smartwater has given me such an advantage over my competition. While participating in my regular spin classes I have noticed I feel immediately refreshed when we take a water break. I don’t know if everyone else in the class can say the same!

Fritsch's Smartwater Challenge Day 4...

Day 4 is going well so far. I have one bottle of Smartwater down and I'm working on another. I did feel more hydrated yesterday during my workout. Usually I just chug water but yesterday I felt pretty hydrated. It was nice to not be filling my water bottle up over and over again.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Abby's Smartwater Challenge email day 3...

Drinking Smartwater has been helping me to get a better start to my days. I have been drinking a bottle before bed and first thing when I wake-up. My body feels refreshed and ready for a new day!

Rachel Smartwater Challenge email day 2...

Today’s challenge is not giving in to sweets. As if I didn’t get my fill at Christmas…Valentine’s candy is popping up all over the place. Why do they do this to me? I keep drinking my SmartWater each time I think about giving in. I figure if I fill up on water there isn’t room for anything else.

Fritsch's Smartwater Challenge Day 3...

Day 3 of the Smartwater Challenge has been going really well. I have big plans of working out today. I haven't worked out yet since I've been on the Smartwater Challenge but hear that you do stay hydrated. I'll keep you posted. Wish me luck!

Monday, January 12, 2009

Abby's Smartwater Challenge email...

It was a VERY busy weekend as usual. I spent time running errands and completing projects around the house. Drinking Smartwater helped me to keep going throughout my busy weekend. I really think the extra electrolytes help!

I’m looking forward to having Smartwater perform in other aspects of my daily routine. I will be sure to let you know how Smartwater effects my routine as the week pans out!

Thanks & Make It a Great Day!

Rachel Smartwater Challenge email...

Good Morning. Things are going well. I have been working out at home over the weekend and well..not going to lie..I am sore. Tonight on my way home from work I am stopping at the gym to kick into high gear. I have my Smartwater… which is excellent. The Smartwater is very clear and refreshing. Fridge stocked with healthy food.

Smartwater Challenge...

Hello Day 1! Today is the kick-off day of the Smartwater Challenge. I started today with a Smartwater and I can actully say that I feel more hydrated. Ususally during the show I have about 3 glasses of just normal tap but today I can tell a difference and have only drank 1 bottle of Smartwater. We'll be checking in with our 3 listeners this week that are taking the Smartwater Challenge. Stay tuned.
